Apiguard Varroa Mite Treatment, 10 X 50G
Product description
Apiguard Varroa Mite Treatment: Slow-Release Thymol Gel for Honey Bee Colonies
Pre-Measured Trays. Sustained Release. Simple Application.
Treat after the honey harvest, when brood rearing is declining. Remove surplus honey supers first; do not treat during a honey flow. Use when daytime highs are between 60°F and 105°F.Apiguard is a ready-to-use gel for the treatment of varroosis caused by Varroa destructor mites in honey bee colonies. Each 50 g tray contains thymol (25%) in a gel that releases the active ingredient over time, dispersing it through the hive by vaporization and by contact as bees move across the tray. This pack contains 10 trays, enough for a complete two-tray treatment of five standard colonies. Developed by Vita Bee Health, a company dedicated to honey bee health.
Built for Practical Varroa Management
Sustained-Release Gel
The thymol gel is dispersed through the hive as it vaporizes and as bees contact it, delivering steady treatment over each two-week tray period instead of a single short dose.
25% Thymol Active Ingredient
Thymol is the sole active ingredient. Apiguard is registered with the U.S. EPA (Reg. No. 79671-1) for the treatment of varroosis caused by Varroa destructor in honey bees.
Simple Two-Tray Program
Each colony receives two pre-measured 50 g trays applied two weeks apart, for a total treatment period of 4 to 6 weeks. No mixing, measuring, or strips to hang.
How to Apply Apiguard
Step 1: Prepare the Hive
Treat after the honey harvest, when brood rearing is declining. Remove surplus honey supers first; do not treat during a honey flow. Use when daytime highs are between 60°F and 105°F.
Step 2: Place the First Tray
Peel back the lid and set one 50 g tray, gel side up, centered on top of the brood frames. Leave at least 1/4 inch of free space between the top of the tray and the cover board.
Step 3: Add the Second Tray
After two weeks, remove the first tray and place a second 50 g tray in the same position on top of the brood frames.
Step 4: Complete the Treatment
Leave the second tray in place so the total treatment period is 4 to 6 weeks, then remove it. Always read and follow the full label directions.
What's in the Box
10 Ready-to-Use Trays, 50 g (1.76 oz) Each
Each foil tray is sealed and pre-measured with a standard 50 g dose, so there is nothing to mix or measure. Two trays treat one standard colony, so one pack covers five colonies. Store unopened in the original packaging below 86°F, and do not freeze.
