Apiguard Varroa Mite Treatment, 10 X 50G
★★★★★ Trusted by 1M+ Beekeepers Worldwide
Treat after the honey harvest, when brood rearing is declining. Remove surplus honey supers first; do not treat during a honey flow. Use when daytime highs are between 60°F and 105°F.Apiguard is a ready-to-use gel for the treatment of varroosis caused by Varroa destructor mites in honey bee colonies. Each 50 g tray contains thymol (25%) in a gel that releases the active ingredient over time, dispersing it through the hive by vaporization and by contact as bees move across the tray. This pack contains 10 trays, enough for a complete two-tray treatment of five standard colonies. Developed by Vita Bee Health, a company dedicated to honey bee health.
The thymol gel is dispersed through the hive as it vaporizes and as bees contact it, delivering steady treatment over each two-week tray period instead of a single short dose.
Thymol is the sole active ingredient. Apiguard is registered with the U.S. EPA (Reg. No. 79671-1) for the treatment of varroosis caused by Varroa destructor in honey bees.
Each colony receives two pre-measured 50 g trays applied two weeks apart, for a total treatment period of 4 to 6 weeks. No mixing, measuring, or strips to hang.

Peel back the lid and set one 50 g tray, gel side up, centered on top of the brood frames. Leave at least 1/4 inch of free space between the top of the tray and the cover board.
After two weeks, remove the first tray and place a second 50 g tray in the same position on top of the brood frames.
Leave the second tray in place so the total treatment period is 4 to 6 weeks, then remove it. Always read and follow the full label directions.
Each foil tray is sealed and pre-measured with a standard 50 g dose, so there is nothing to mix or measure. Two trays treat one standard colony, so one pack covers five colonies. Store unopened in the original packaging below 86°F, and do not freeze.

I finally decided to step up and raise my own this season. This graftless system is just brilliant. No more stressing about damaging those tiny larvae. I easily got over 40 cells started on my first try, which is fantastic for our short Canadian summers. Instead of having to buy wooden frames, I was convinced it was definitely worth the money when I found three plastic Nursery Frames in the box that I can reuse over and over again. It also feels great to finally have full control over the genetics of my hives.

I’ve spent too many summers squinting my eyes raw trying to graft larvae the old-fashioned way. At my age, my eyes just can't take that tiny needle work anymore. This kit is a complete game changer for my yard. I just let the queen loose in the box for a day, and she laid everything right where it needed to be. My nurse bees fed 'em up real good, and I ended up with some big, healthy queens way quicker than I figured. Even scooping out the royal jelly was a breeze.

Starting queen rearing felt intimidating, but this kit made it straightforward even for a beginner like me. Confining the queen to lay in the comb box worked perfectly, and moving the plugs to the frames was simple. Acceptance was much higher than I expected, and the extra royal jelly production is awesome. The queens emerged healthy, and I had no issues introducing them. Great quality tools included too.

As a beekeeper with 20 years of experience, my eyesight isn’t what it used to be, and my hands shake a little. A fellow beekeeper from the club told me he uses this kit and that it’s perfect for me. Trusting his judgment, I bought it without a second thought. Everything I needed was in the box. This set proved to be exactly what I needed at my age by allowing the queen to lay eggs directly into the cell caps. I’d like to thank my friend and the manufacturers.

To be honest, I was getting tired of the grafting method. When I discovered this all-in-one kit, I decided to give it a try. And now, high larval acceptance, strong queens, and easy royal jelly harvest. Best kit I've tried. Definitely recommending it to my local beekeeping group.
