Hive Alive Bee Food Fondant, Winter, Spring & Fall Feed, 2.2 Lb X 1-Pack
★★★★★ Trusted by 1M+ Beekeepers Worldwide
When should I feed HiveAlive Fondant Patty?
Use it in late fall, winter, early spring, or during emergency feeding when colonies need extra food, especially when cold weather makes syrup feeding difficult.
How do I feed the fondant patty to my bees?
Keep the patty in its wrapper, cut an approx. 3" (8 cm) opening, and place it directly over the cluster, brood frames, or crownboard opening. No feeder is required.
Why choose fondant instead of sugar syrup?
Fondant contains less moisture and is easy for bees to access directly above the cluster. It is especially useful during colder weather when syrup feeding may not be suitable.
How should I store unused HiveAlive Fondant Patties?
Store unopened patties in a cool, dry place. No refrigeration or freezing is needed. If opened, wrap securely to prevent drying and use before the expiry date.
What makes HiveAlive Fondant Patty different?
It combines a solid carbohydrate feed with HiveAlive liquid, vitamins, and amino acids, giving bees convenient access to supplementary nutrition when natural food stores are limited.
Sugar (sucrose), Sugar Syrup, Dried Seaweed Meal (Fucaceae), Water, Thyme, Lecithin, Lemon Grass, Dextrose, Hydrolysed Yeast (source of Alanine, Arginine, Aspartic acid, Phenylalanine, Cystine, Glutamic acid, Glycine, Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Proline, Serine, Threonine, Tyrosine, Valine), Vitamins: B1, B2, B3, B6, Biotin, Niacinamide, D-panthenol

I finally decided to step up and raise my own this season. This graftless system is just brilliant. No more stressing about damaging those tiny larvae. I easily got over 40 cells started on my first try, which is fantastic for our short Canadian summers. Instead of having to buy wooden frames, I was convinced it was definitely worth the money when I found three plastic Nursery Frames in the box that I can reuse over and over again. It also feels great to finally have full control over the genetics of my hives.

I’ve spent too many summers squinting my eyes raw trying to graft larvae the old-fashioned way. At my age, my eyes just can't take that tiny needle work anymore. This kit is a complete game changer for my yard. I just let the queen loose in the box for a day, and she laid everything right where it needed to be. My nurse bees fed 'em up real good, and I ended up with some big, healthy queens way quicker than I figured. Even scooping out the royal jelly was a breeze.

Starting queen rearing felt intimidating, but this kit made it straightforward even for a beginner like me. Confining the queen to lay in the comb box worked perfectly, and moving the plugs to the frames was simple. Acceptance was much higher than I expected, and the extra royal jelly production is awesome. The queens emerged healthy, and I had no issues introducing them. Great quality tools included too.

As a beekeeper with 20 years of experience, my eyesight isn’t what it used to be, and my hands shake a little. A fellow beekeeper from the club told me he uses this kit and that it’s perfect for me. Trusting his judgment, I bought it without a second thought. Everything I needed was in the box. This set proved to be exactly what I needed at my age by allowing the queen to lay eggs directly into the cell caps. I’d like to thank my friend and the manufacturers.

To be honest, I was getting tired of the grafting method. When I discovered this all-in-one kit, I decided to give it a try. And now, high larval acceptance, strong queens, and easy royal jelly harvest. Best kit I've tried. Definitely recommending it to my local beekeeping group.
